The open floor plan features a cozy living area, a dining area for two, and a beautiful, fully equipped kitchen. The outdoor areas expand your living space during your stay, with a spacious covered balcony featuring a gas grill and comfortable patio furniture for you to relax while taking in the view and sea breezes.

The sleeping quarters are air-conditioned with a queen-size Simmons mattress and top-quality linens, promising a good night’s sleep after a day of St. John adventures. An en-suite bathroom with dual vanity sinks and a walk-in, glass-enclosed shower ensures that you’ll enjoy every comfort in your home away from home during your stay.
The Happy Place is located in the perfect combination of privacy and convenience: away from it all yet close to town. Here, you are just moments away from the bustling town center of Cruz Bay and, just beyond that, the Virgin Islands National Park with its idyllic beaches and expansive hiking trails.

Recently, Happy Place received top to bottom complete remodel, including all new appliances and furnishings! In 2019, a “TESLA POWERWALL” Solar System was installed, which creates clean, renewable power from the sun and ensures that when the power goes down on island, the lights stay on at Happy Place.
When you arrive at Happy Place, you will enjoy your own private, palm lined parking area and covered entry. Beach chairs, towels and an ice chest are provided to accommodate your daily excursions.

We loved our stay at Happy Place. The view can’t be beat, great for coffee in the morning on the balcony. A car is needed to avoid the hills getting to the location but if you’re comfortable driving the roads it’s very close to town by car. Henry was very responsive leading up to our reservation and check in was a breeze. Looking forward to our next stay!

Host was really communicative and made check-in really easy. They guided us from the car ferry to the property as it is on a steep incline. I'd say a 4WD/AWD car is pretty required to stay here, but it was no issue. The view and porch was beautiful. The porch was actually bigger than expected. Kitchen stocked, everything working well and in good condition. Great stay and would definitely stay again!

Happy Place is a wonderful place to stay while visiting St. John. It sits at an elevation of about 300' above sea level with a great view looking to the south over Great Cruz Bay, Chocolate Hole and St. Croix on the horizon. It has a constant and steady tropical breeze to keep things nice and cool. We have stayed at Happy Place a number of times and have never used the air conditioner. Happy Place is a perfect place for two people to get away, for some quiet privacy. It is within a 10–15-minute drive of the wonderful beaches on the north shore of the island and a quick 5-minute drive into Cruz Bay for a nice meal at one of a number of great places to eat. If going out to eat isn't on your schedule, there is a well-equipped kitchen available, as well as a BBQ on the deck. Happy Place is also equipped with a solar/battery back-up power system, which especially nice during the occasional power outages on the island. You will not be disappointed with a stay at Happy Place! Try it!

We were beyond impressed with Happy Place. Before arriving we were given a digital resource to explain everything about the place and the island itself with a lot of recommendations. On the day of arrival, we got a text with Henry and his son Dennis in it so we could easily communicate. Dennis met us at the car rental place and waited patiently for us to get everything sorted out (bring a copy of your insurance policy!) and then drove us to the house. He gave us a quick little tour and was on his way. The views were even better than we imagined. Worth every penny! The space was perfect for the two of us. The bedroom has AC and cools the room quickly for night time. You don’t need it other than that. The bed was comfy and there’s a washer dryer if you need it. They had beach chairs, towels and a cooler for us to use. The hills are VERY steep. While it’s close to Cruz Bay, this is not walkable. You definitely need a jeep! We can’t wait to go back!
