What do you get when you mix booze, a pirate ship and a cast of characters in various stages of revelry? The Willy T, of course!

Just a few miles east of St. John lies one of the most popular floating bars in the Caribbean. The Willy T is a 100-foot steel ship anchored in the bay off Norman Island, named after Dr. William Thornton. Born in nearby Jost Van Dyke, Dr. Thornton was the architect who designed the United States capitol building!

Some impressive grub comes out of the ship’s tiny kitchen. How does calamari ceviche, Caribbean-style fried chicken and key lime pie sound? It’s not the tasty food that draws a crowd however. The Willy T serves up a healthy dose of debauchery, and drinks that pack a punch with provocative methods of delivery.

You may be persuaded to try the shotski, a water ski turned shot receptacle, best enjoyed with friends you may have just met. Or you can sprawl out on the bar and be turned into a body shot. Or ask the bartender to apply a temporary tattoo to exposed or unexposed locations. You get the idea.

Willy T’s shenanigans have caused many unsuspecting patrons to throw caution to the wind and plunge off the aft deck, ignoring signs to the contrary. As the day progresses, this ceremonious affair escalates into a clothing optional event.
