St. John

4 More Reasons to Book Your 2022 Vacation

Hakuna Matata Villa St John

If your travel goal for 2022 is to escape the post-pandemic madness, here are four reasons St. John is the perfect island remedy. We aren’t kidding when we say book now – it’s been a very busy year and next year looks to be the same!

1. It’s easy to get here… then again, it’s not

Pun intended. There’s a reason St. John is considered the sleepiest of the Virgin Islands, there is no airport. Though it does take a little extra planning, the end result is worth it. Four major airlines and numerous inter-island and charter flights arrive at Cyril E King airport in St. Thomas. American has direct flights from New York, Boston, Miami and San Juan; Delta offers direct flights from Atlanta and New York; JetBlue flies direct from Boston and San Juan; Spirit flies direct from Ft. Lauderdale and Orlando; and United has direct flights from Dulles, Chicago, Houston and Newark.

Upon arrival, you’ll have two (sometimes three) ferry options to transport you to the St. John ferry dock. As you approach, the white sand of Cruz Bay beckons and you know it’s about to get good!

2. You don’t need a passport

People often forget that this Caribbean destination is United States territory. No passport, no problem.

3. You can choose where to stay from nearly 50 luxurious villas

We’ve got you covered whether you’re searching for a sprawling property for 14 or a cozy cottage for two. Our villas are located throughout the island and all with easy access to beaches, hiking, shopping and dining. Be sure to use our Ultimate St. John Villa Rental Checklist to guide you to your home away from home.

4. The food is fantastic

St. John is known for various culinary options to suit any pallet and budget. Where else can you eat New York style pizza by the sea for lunch and fresh lobster by the pool for dinner! Greengo’s for Mexican, Café Roma for Italian, Woody’s for grouper bites, The Terrace for fine dining, Rhumblines for Pacific Rim and tropical dishes, we’ve got it all!

St. John is not your all-inclusive resort or theme park destination. There are no limos or rooftop bars. Our island offers its own luxury in the form of nature and tranquility. Forget the hustle of the mainland. Forget what feels like the longest year ever, it’s time to reconnect with your body and soul the old-fashioned way. Come visit our island paradise!
