Catered To is a full-service villa rental agency and property management company located on St. John, USVI since 1989. We provide full property management services as well as marketing and accounting.

Fly into Cyril E. King Airport on St. Thomas (STT). From there, the only way to get to St. John is by boat as there is no commercial airport. Hire a taxi from the airport and take a ferry as a passenger to St. John. The primary and most flexible route is taking a taxi from the airport to the Red Hook Ferry Terminal, followed by a short passenger ferry to Cruz Bay, St. John. The entire transit usually takes about an hour to an hour and a half. Upon exiting the STT baggage claim area, you will see a designated taxi stand with an official dispatcher. The dispatcher will line you up with an open-air safari bus or large passenger van heading toward your preferred ferry dock. Rides are charged per person. Most local taxis only accept cash. Fares generally range between $17 and $25 per person, plus a mandatory $2 to $4 fee per piece of luggage. The drive across the island from the airport to Urman Victor Fredericks Marine Terminal in Red Hook takes 30 to 40 minutes. You’ll be met by one of our greeters in Cruz Bay at the ferry landing and taken directly to your villa, or to our office for early arrivals. The U.S. Customs service does not require a passport to depart the U.S. Virgin Islands to return to the United States or Puerto Rico. If you do not have a passport you are required to have a government-issued Real ID. Travel to other islands like the British Virgin islands does require a passport.

Generally, there is a 5-night minimum stay required to reserve one of our villas. However, if you have a unique situation for a shorter stay, especially if it’s a last-minute reservation, please contact us at info@cateredto.com or call (340) 776-6641 and we will do our best to accommodate you.

Check-in is at 3pm.This allows the housekeepers to complete their cleaning duties. If you arrive earlier, we may be able to accommodate an early check-in, otherwise you may drop your luggage off at the Catered To office, located in the Marketplace. Check-out is at 10am. Late checkouts may be available if there is no arrival the same day, please speak to our agents in the office.

We do advise all guests who rent a villa with Catered To Vacation Homes to reserve and rent a car. Many of our villas are not accessible by taxi and there is no convenient way to arrange for taxis early or late in the day.

Your rental villa is thoroughly cleaned prior to your arrival. On visits of 7 nights or more, a mid-week cleaning service is provided in selected villas. Additional mid-stay cleanings are provided for multi-week stays in the villas that offer this service. Additional cleanings may be scheduled at an additional cost.

Yes. Our team can help coordinate any concierge services such as grocery delivery in order to make your stay as effortless and seamless as possible. Please don’t hesitate to contact us or call (340) 776-6641 to arrange the details.

No deposits will be refunded unless a replacement rental is obtained. Should you be forced to cancel for ANY reason and a replacement rental equal to the full contracted rental rate is obtained, your deposit will be refunded, less 10% of the complete rental rate. Reservations canceled less than 90 days in advance of reservation date will incur an additional 10%penalty. No monies will be refunded unless a replacement rental at the villa cancelled is obtained. Approved funds transfers may only be applied to the same villa to be used within one year. It is the guest’s responsibility to cover themselves in the event they need to cancel or change their vacation plans. Please verify all terms and conditions of coverage with the trip cancellation insurance company. We strongly recommend you purchase travel insurance through CSA Travel Protection.

Guests can have mail sent to our office via USPS or FedEx. Outgoing rates are generally the same as within the United States. FedEx is not overnight (it varies) and anything else we do not recommend. Please call us at (340) 776-6641 to confirm.

St. John, as a part of the U.S. Virgin Islands, uses the U.S. dollar as the standard form of currency. Major credit cards are accepted at most locations throughout the island.

While St. John is known as a very casual island where people come to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life back on the mainland, there are some important local customs to adhere to during your visit. First off, it’s customary to greet each other with a simple “good morning, good afternoon or good evening.” Work this into your daily routine and the locals are likely to respond with warmth and kindness. Secondly, it’s very important to cover up beachwear and be modest – it’s even illegal to parade around in your swimwear or to go about town barechested!

We strive to make your stay as comfortable and trouble-free as possible. However, there are some services that we do not control. Problems with the electrical service, telephone service (both land and cellular), internet service as well as cable or satellite television are managed by other service providers and we cannot guarantee that the service will not be interrupted or always available. Some villas have a diesel generator that automatically serves as a backup in the case of electric service outage.
