St. John

St John: 10 Months Later

Likely many of you have been following St. John’s recovery since being hit by two hurricanes 10 months ago. It’s amazing to see the transformation from downed telephone poles and leafless trees to where we are today. Mother Nature and St. Johnians came back with a vengeance!

The majority of shops are restaurants are open for business and the live music calendar is full once again. Nearly all of the villas managed by Catered To are ready to welcome visitors and we are thrilled to see a steady increase in demand.

All beaches and trails are open except the Francis Bay boardwalk, although a few beaches have limited facilities. You may be surprised that some beaches are larger and wider with the deposit of additional sand. Coral reefs and mangroves continue to recover but there’s still plenty of marine life to appreciate, including many turtles as it is nesting season.

While the number of visitors is slowly ramping back up, consider taking advantage crowdless beaches, little or no waiting for a table at your favorite restaurant and ample parking. Our water is still turquoise, our sand is still white and our drinks are still cold. Most importantly, the island residents are even more happy to see you.
