St. John Beach Day

Whether you prefer the wide expanse of popular Trunk Bay or local favorite Jumbie Beach, your St. John vacation is sure to include endless hours in and around the water. With more than 30 beaches to choose from, the toughest decision of your day may be which one to hit next.

Ease into a stress-free vacation by keeping your beach bag stocked with essentials so you’ll be ready to go at a moment’s notice. For an added benefit, choose a functional tote that will double as your airplane carry-on.

 

Beach Bag Essentials

• Sunscreen with SPF

• Lip balm with SPF Insect repellant Beach mat or chairs Sunglasses

• Visor and/or hat

• Beach towels Hand sanitizer and/or wipes Camera and/or underwater camera

• Small zippered pouch for valuables such as cell phone, keys and ID

• Snorkel gear

• Water shoes or flip flops

• Cooler or insulated bag filled with snacks and plenty of water

• Ziploc bags to collect seaside treasure (Note: If you are inside the National Park, removing shells is illegal).

• Optional: umbrella, water toys/floats, waterproof smartphone case, a good book

Note: All Catered To Vacation Homes villas are equipped with beach chairs and beach towels. Many also have swim toys and snorkel gear so be sure to check your villa supply list or give us a call to confirm.

 

Our favorite no-fuss, healthy beach treats:

• Hydrating fruits such as grapes, cantaloupe, berries, pineapple and watermelon

• Homemade trail mix from your favorite nuts, dried fruit and seeds

• Refreshing raw vegetables such as celery, carrots, cucumber, squash and cherry tomatoes with a low-fat dressing or hummus for dipping

• Pita wraps or lettuce wraps

• Cubed cheese and your favorite whole grain crackers

• Banana bread, zucchini muffins or homemade granola bars

• Frozen bottles of water instead of ice

 

If you forget something, don’t stress. After all, you’re in the Caribbean!
